Meal Distribution Drive-Thru During Closure: Monday, March 16th – Friday, March 20th

During this unexpected closure, due to the Coronavirus, school-aged will continue to receive their school lunches today through Friday (March 16 - 20) from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at specific school sites serving as food distribution locations.

The distribution will be similar to lunch distribution during the summer. A school resource officer and/or school safety guardian will be assigned to each school that has been identified as a meal distribution site. Their presence will facilitate the safe and orderly preparation and distribution of meals during school closures.

The sites listed below will be open today, Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for meal distribution. CHILDREN MUST BE PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE to receive a meal. Schools will have a drive-up process in place, so no one should have to exit their vehicles.

Meals will include one breakfast (for the next day) and one lunch.

MEAL DISTRIBUTION SITES:
🔸Crystal River Primary – Crystal River (Front of the school)

🔸Forest Ridge Elementary – Beverly Hills (Front of the school)

🔸Pleasant Grove Elementary – Inverness (Bus ramp)

🔸Citrus High School – Inverness (Stadium road/Cafeteria entrance)

Citrus County Blessings: With the recent news of schools closing next week we will be reaching out to our families with information on when and where they can pick up if needed. We are also working with our liaisons in the schools to make distribution as easy as possible. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or if you would like to help. You can always email me directly at Christina@citruscountyblessings.org. Thank you!

Temporary Layoff Program:

Temporary Layoff occurs when the employee is separated from their job due to lack of work, and the employee has a return-to-work date within eight weeks of the separation. An employee that is temporarily laid off from work may be eligible for RA benefits. However, if you are unable to give an employee a return-to-work date within 8 weeks of separation, they may qualify for regular Reemployment Assistance Benefits below.

Reemployment Assistance (RA) Benefits:

Reemployment Assistance provides temporary wage replacement benefits to eligible individuals who are out of work through no fault of their own. If your employment has been negatively impacted as a result of the mitigation efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, you may be eligible to receive RA benefits.
